Easy ways to find a tennis grip techniques?
Is there easy ways to find the continental grip or the other kinds of grips? I know some techniques are hold the racket like a frying pan or hold it like your holding a knife.
Check out Fuzzy Yellow Balls. Awesome videos explaining all the grips in detail.
Tennis Beginner???
Im gonna start playing tennis next week as beginner!
Ive never played before and my friend and i [she's never played either] are getting private lessons. Im not really sure of what to wear or bring. I also wanted to know about any facts or websites that would be helpful cuz im gonna need all the help i can get!
Well I’d first like to say, Welcome to the world of tennis!!
Trust me you will have fun I assure you
Ok your equipment has to be very lite, don’t put on some really heavy shirt or pants, keep everything extremly lite.!
Now here is a list of what to bring
- Loose shirt (extremly light and slinky)
- Loose pants make sure that they have breathig space (shorts reccomended)
- A water bottle, Trust me this is a thing you will need, especially when your coaches push you to your knees!
- Very easy slip on shoes that can make you run well.
- A TENNIS RACKET! Lol yup, This is the most Important thing you need, Of course this should go without saying, read on further and I’ll tell you which rackets are good for beginners.
- Shock Absorber, This is for your racket to help vibration not tingle you.
Thats about all here are some Tennis rackets to think about buying. . .
Prince- Great for starters! I love Prince rackets, They served me for 2 years staright without even getting a scratch! I’d siggest it.
Wilson- This was my first racket, very tight strings and helps accuracy (not much of a begginer racket) But in fuyure will be the racket I will reccomend!
Volkl- This is what I use, VERY GOOD grip and strings, 10-star-quality, I love it and helps with accuracy, can be used for beginners but you will have to modify your strings.
Babolot- NOT A BRGGINER RACKET!! Don’t buy this for when starting, try and get this maybe when your serious about tennis. . . I’m not much of a fan of them so I don;t buy then, but I have tried them and to be honest, there amazing.
Price Lists.
Prince – $75
Wilson- $50
Volkl- $120
Babolot- $200+
(these are average prices for beginners)
Hope I helped!

Tennis Lessons : What Is the Proper Way to Hold a Tennis Racket?
The proper way to hold a tennis racket is similar to the way a frying pan is held, and this is referred to as a semi-western grip. Use a semi-western tennis grip to get more topspin with help from a tennis director in this free video on holding tennis rackets.

Any possible way to make tennis grip smaller?
I have Wilson K factor tour and the grip itself is made from this foamish material so i cant shave it and or replace it. I want 4 3/8 and i have 4 1/2
While there is no way to really make your grip smaller, other than buy a new racket, you should check to see if there is an overgrip on. If there’s not and there was only one grip, try a thin grip, which may be less comfortable, but smaller. If there is an overgrip, remove it, and replace the grip underneath. If you can’t do either, I’m afraid you’d do best to buy a new racket or just keep practicing with your current racket.
I have a HUGE tennis probelm!!!!!! Help me please!!!!?
ok In the summer of 2007 I took beginner tennis lessons, and I was really good. The last summer I didn’t get to go down tot he courts as much so I started playing badminton. Well now I go back to the tennis courts and I s*ck because I can’t hit the ball hard enough, and it’s all messed up because I can’t master the basics of playing BOTH tennis and badminton.
Any advice on how to get good again at tennis? I truly love the sport, but I also love badminton.
I have had a simaler problem… My dad is a badminton coach, but I play tennis. Its difficult to understand the differences, but its very important. First, focus more on your tennis game, if that is what you want to pursue. Develop good skills and use appropriate footwork to indulge into the sport. After, continue to play badminton, but make sure you differentiate between the sports. In tennis, longer, fuller swings should be your premis, while in badminton, use shorter, quick strokes that allow you to set up for a smash. Good Luck!

How can a tennis racket grip size affect my game?
i am going to order a new tennis racket soon, i am not sure which grip to order but its betwwen 3/8 or 1/2 i might go with the smaller one, but what i wanted to know was that if the grio is too small for me or to larger how will it affect me game on the court, and if i get a smaller or bigger grip,, but i realise after i get the racket that i need a bigger or smaller grip what can i do to make it the perfect grip for me?
The right grip size makes a huge difference in how a racquet performs. If you’re not sure of your grip size, here are two simple ways to measure:
Holding an eastern forehand grip (the palm is placed against the same bevel as the string face), you should be able to fit the index finger of your non-hitting hand in the space between your ring finger and palm. If there isn’t enough room for your index finger, the grip is too small. If there is space between your finger and palm, the grip is too big. A too-small grip requires more muscle strength to keep the racquet from twisting in your hand. Prolonged use of a grip that’s too small can contribute to tennis elbow problems. A grip that’s too large inhibits wrist snap on serves, makes changing grips more difficult and also requires more muscle strength. Prolonged use of a grip that’s too big can also contribute to tennis elbow problems.
I absolutely suck at tennis? How can I improve?
So, I took a beginners tennis lesson, dec-feb. I’m now taking an intermidiate class and I absolutely suck at it. Everyone else is so much better, they always get it over the net, but not me, I always get it elsewhere. And I can’t do the footing. I feel so bad, and embarrased.
*I just came back from my lesson. (Started today)
Please give me tips, videos and anything to help me improve.
Thanks you!
lessons do help and playing people that are better than you too but only better by enough to allow you to play/practice but work hard.
play alot, don’t tilt racket head to far up or to far down(unless wanted), never stop moving your feet other than serving, take small steps to adjust to the ball, have racket ready before ball gets to you, keep eyes on the ball, when hitting the ball start low and end high and accelerate through the ball when swinging.
I’m not that amazing( i started 2 years ago) but these things helped me and should you. I would help you personally if you were in southwest MI but thats not that likly, but if so email me.
good luck work hard and by all means have fun with it
