Where can i get Blue Tennis racquet grip like Maria Sharapova and Andy Murray?

They both have blue grip on thier rackets so where can i get it? And what is it> is it tape or just a grip they put on it?

Both of those pros actually use TournaGrip overgrips. Anyone can purchase these grips from a variety of athletic stores. If you can’t find them, tenniswarehouse.com sells them.

Tennis tips for a beginner?

I’ve started playing tennis this summer for the first time in my life and I’m trying very hard to become better day by day. It’s been over a month that I’ve taken group lessons in a nearby summer camp and I’m obviously improved, but it seems like my games are still really clumsy. So all kinds of tennis tips for me would be greatly appreciated. Oh, also, I’m planning to try out for my school’s varsity tennis team. I know I definitely wouldn’t make it if I tried out this fall, but would I make it next year? I’m planning to take private lessons after this summer and keep on practicing everyday like I do now. Thanks.

im sure anyone you ask will tell you to keep practicing tennis constantly, which is important but not if you dont know what you are doing. if you keep practicing something wrong, you wont improve and you may just end up hurting yourself. it would be helpful to have someone watch you play and tell you what you are doing wrong, and get advice on improving. videotaping yourself may help you notice your own mistakes.

also, dont favor one part of your game over the other. you must have different and equally strong aspects of your game if you ever want to reach a varsity level. for me, this is mostly my backhand and serve, and its not always fun, but i know its very important.

for a match, remember to stay calm and let your strokes flow naturally as you would in practice. one of the things that would kill me when i first started playing highschool matches was when i would freeze up and end up hitting it out or at the net. also, try to develop your game so that you are extremely consistent, which is very important if you want to make the varsity team. in fact, i have a friend who is moving up to varsity because of his crazy consistency, despite his lack of power (our varsity team is very good by the way). after you feel like you wont miss an easy shot, then try working on power.

something else that is really important for your chances of getting to a higher level is the consistency of your serves. your serve is something you should practice as much as you can because i have seen guys who have an incredibly fast serve, but when they miss, their second serve is basically a free point to their opponent. if you can develop a high percentage second serve then you should be in good shape.

also, practice with players more experienced with you which will help you improve rather than if you played with worse players.

hope this helps and good luck

Do i replace the tennis racquet grip part myself? or do i have the sports store do it for me?

Hello, the grip part of my tennis racquet has worn out and i need to replace it. my question is….do i buy a grip and replace it myself or am i supposed to have the store do it for me?

This is my first time replacing it so i dont know…..if im doing it myself, do i take the old grip off first? because it seems it would be very hard to do so.

I know that for the racquet to be restrung the store needs to do it…….

thanks for your answers!

You can do it but first remove the old grip.. You will most likely have some extra grip left at the end but all you have to do is cut it. The shop will only do it if you ask them when you buy the new grip AND have your racquet restrung.

The old grip (and most new grips) have a very sticky backing. Sometimes you will have to remove the bottom cap (if it is stapled in). Just pull it off as it unwinds. If it tears or doesn’t come off clean then you may have to use a tool (such as a spatula or something flat) to remove the rest.

They also sell overgrips. These are thinner grips without the cushioning that full grips have and they just wrap over the old grip. They don’t usually last as long but they are cheaper and you get more in a roll, and they don’t have adhesive backings. You have to wrap it tight. I’ve used them before and they are ok for an emergency quick fix.

tennis for a beginner?

i’m gonna try out for my varsity tennis team at school. the chances of me making it in are probably high because no one at our school really plays tennis. i just want to try it out but i have no experience in tennis whatsoever. a teacher told me i should buy a racquet and some balls first but i don’t know which kinds to get. my try outs start soon.

is there any exercises or anything i could try practice just so i can be a little okay at tennis when i get to school lol. almost everyone who signed up knows how to play so i don’t really want to shame myself.

i can’t really pay for lessons so that kind of sucks.

Here’s some stretches to do:
* Reach for your toes standing up
* Try to reach your arms behind your back
* Put feet against wall and press to stretch shins

Hope that helps!

what tennis hand grip gives you the most speed on a shot?

I know speed on a shot comes from racquet head speed. Also, I know that a semi-western or full western gives more topspin. But which grip ultimatley allows you to crush a ball, regardless of whether or not it results in topspin?

There are two factors at play here – hitting hard and keeping the ball in. Flat ball naturally will be the fastest – because the speed vector basically will have only one component – forward. However, the margin of error is greatly reduced. So, you still want some spin on the ball for control – so, semi-western is the best way to go, in my opinion. Try crushing a short ball with an eastern grip, especially if the ball bounces high – and watch the ball fly out.

Can someone tell me about tennis?

Can someone give me (a beginner) a few basics about tennis such as terms and other necessary things? Like what kind of racquet I should use, and if they teach beginners (I’m 17) lessons?
I would also like to know how players qualify for US Open and such from small tennis clubs.

I have answered your other question about racquet selection. As for coaching you should go down to your local tennis club and seek proffesional help not just anyone over the internet.
as for qualifying for the us open.
first of all, you have to build up your ranking (ITN) by playing local and interstate tournaments. then you can start playing in futures tournaments, working your way up, then play on the satellite tour, work your way into the top 100 and you can start playing on the ATP (or WTA if you’re a woman). Once you’re in the top 100 you will automatically qualify for the US Open and all other grandslams.

as for tips the most important thing you can learn is to decide which shots you should hit off a particular ball. Learn a variety of shots, high top spin, low slice, volley, serve.

If you want to become a proffesional tennis player you have to practice every day. I believe that if it is what you truly want you can go all the way and make it. Reach for the stars. set goals, work towards them, practice practice practice. once you achieve your goals reasess and set new goals.
YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!:-D
