So, i’m a beginner, taking group lessons (once a week), and I also go to the tennis court most of the week to practice, so, any tips that would help me improve is welcomed.

Thanks.

Asking tips is a good start, that means your exploring more to improve yourself, now I want you to go to the right Forums i.e. Tennis warehouse website. Best practice for you to improve is play against the Wall. But dont just Hit the ball try to hit the ball with Footwork and right stroke movement. thats the purpose of wall pracdtice. dont hit it with no form. or else your practice is useless.

Now, go to any public tennis courts. im sure there will be a lot of tennis 3.5 rating out there. They can be a challenge sometimes.

keep the ball cross court. Almost every time (obviously if they are way off the court down the line is acceptable) and try to keep the ball as deep as you can. Other than that just practice practice practice :)

You need to put more time in than that, I average about 4 hours a day (during school) and i just started playing to months ago.
I can already beat two kids in prince top 100 for age 14.
You need to practice more, just keep the ball in with lots of rotation and deep beyond the service line. Make them beat themselves.

spend as much time at the net practicing volleys as hitting groudstrokes from the baseline. that way you won’t be afraid of the net as most players including professionals are.

    Beginner Tips

    1. EYES ON THE BALL AT ALL TIMES (#1 rule of tennis) This means watching: when the ball contacts your racquet, when the ball contacts you opponents racquet, when the ball contacts your racquet on a serve, when the ball contacts your racquet on a volley, when the ball contacts your racquet on a groundstroke, when the ball is flying through the air, when the ball is on the floor or a bounce, when the ball hits the net………….and so and so

    2. Consistency is the name of your game. Most games at the beginner level are lost and not won. Unforced errors are huge in this stage. The guy who hits the most unforced errors losses the game. Don’t try to hit it hard or fast, just get it over the net.

    3. Aim high, most opponents at the beginner level can’t take advantage of high balls, so this is a good way to clear the net

    4. Aim crosscourt every time, crosscourt shots have more area to keep the ball in and this will help your consistency.

    EVERY TIME

    5. BEND YOUR KNEES on those low shots. This is the reason why most beginners make mistakes on low shots

even if your opponents figures out your game strategy, they are a beginner!!! They can’t do anything!!! They’re struggling to return the ball every time and have a 30% chance to hit the ball out. Don’t worry about strategy and these tips are numbered based on importance.
