Pilot Pen Tennis Adds Two New Hires To Staff

January 15 2004--Connecticut natives Jeff Toler and Sarah Willcox have been added to the full-time Pilot Pen Tennis staff, it was announced today by Anne Worcester, tournament director. Toler takes over as Sales Manager, while Willcox has been named Assistant Ticket Manager. The 2004 Pilot Pen presented by Michelob ULTRA, A USTA Event, will be held August 20-28 at the Connecticut Tennis Center at Yale.

Toler, 29, has a strong background in sales. He previously served as the director of sports marketing for the Coastal Fairfield County Convention and Visitors Bureau, where he was responsible for selling and marketing the region as a destination to host sporting events. In addition, Toler also spearheaded the Coastal Fairfield County CVB’s Sports Commission. A resident of Seymour, Toler had been with the Coastal Fairfield County CVB since 2000 and prior to that had worked at the Greater New Haven Convention and Visitors Bureau as a Tourism and Sports Sales Representative. His primary role at Pilot Pen Tennis will include sales of corporate boxes and hospitality suites. He is a 1997 graduate of Central Connecticut State University.

Willcox, 22, has served as a ticket supervisor at the tournament for the past two summers. Her new duties include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the ticket office, as well as supporting all ticket marketing efforts to maximize sales of the 13,500 seat stadium. The New Haven resident is a 2003 magna cum laude graduate of Connecticut College.

“As we continue to grow Pilot Pen Tennis, we are delighted to add two outstanding professionals to the Pilot Pen team,” said Worcester. “Their knowledge of sports, entertainment and the Connecticut marketplace will be tremendous assets to Pilot Pen Tennis.”
